LODGING

We’re thrilled that for the first time ever, participants will have the option to book rooms on site at the conference facility.

Please view the step-by-step guide to booking your room here before booking your room.

NOTE: Your card will be charged the full amount of your stay at the time of booking and you will be subject to the hostel’s cancellation policies.

There are several types of accommodations available.

Single/Double rooms (one double bed that can be split into two singles) with private bathroom

Single/Double rooms (one double bed that can be split into two singles) with washbasin (shared shower facilities)

Family Rooms (one double bed that can be split into two singles, 1 upper bunk, 1 lower bunk)

4-bed Bunk Rooms (2 lower bunks, 2 upper bunks) with private bathroom

4-bed Bunk Rooms (2 lower bunks, 2 upper bunks) with washbasin (shared shower facilities)

6-bed Bunk Rooms (3 lower bunks, 3 upper bunks) with washbasin (shared shower facilities)

All rooms with bunk beds feature large, keyed lockers for the secure storage of personal belongings.

Rooms with washbasin use the shared shower facilities available on each floor.

Do I have to stay at the Hostel?

No – you’re free to stay wherever you’d like.

Is it possible to have a private room?

There are a very limited number of private rooms available at the hostel. Some, but not all of them, have private bathroom facilities.

I don’t mind sharing a room, but I want to room with specific people who are also attending Europolitan.

Decide with your future roommates what type of room you want to book.

For 4- or 6-Bunk Rooms

First talk about who will take the top bunks – you don’t want to get checked in and then realize no one wants to or can climb up into the top bunk!

Each roommate should submit their own reservation request using the online reservation system. In the comments field, in addition to mentioning that you are part of SCBWI, list the names of the people that you want to room with. This way the Hostel can assign you all to the same room. There are screenshots that walk you through the reservation system here.

For Single/Double or Family Rooms

One person should make the reservation using the online reservation system. In the comments field, in addition to mentioning that you are part of SCBWI, provide the names of the other persons who will be sharing the room. There are screenshots that walk you through the reservation system here.

I don’t mind sharing a room, but I only want to room with Europolitan Conference attendees.

While we cannot guarantee that all of your roommates would be conference attendees, the Hostel will do their best to group our attendees together.

Submit your reservation request using the online reservation form. There are screenshots that walk you through the reservation system here.

In the comments field, in addition to mentioning that you are part of SCBWI, request that you be assigned to a room with other SCBWI conference attendees. The Hostel will do their best to put conference attendees together.

I don’t have a Hostel membership. Will I be charged the non-member surcharge?

No. When making your reservation, be sure to mention in the comments field that you are part of the SCBWI conference. We have a group membership that covers all conference attendees.
