The 2017 Europolitan will once again bring you a unique blend of faculty that reflects our membership. We have a stellar lineup of UK and US agents, editors and art directors, as well as writers and illustrators from an even broader area.
The theme of this edition of the Europolitan is "Pens, Pencils & Partnerships." Creative endeavors are often solitary undertakings but the path to publication and beyond isn’t. Our faculty members will share with you some of the many types of partnerships (and friendships!) they have developed over their careers as industry professionals and successful creatives. Come prepared to join in, learn more about how the industry works, hear about how fellow creatives have found their path, make new friends and be inspired!
Following along on the spirit of getting to know each other and sharing that every Europolitan has embodied, there are several optional pre- and post-conference activities.
• On Friday, there is a Scrawl Crawl and Dinner in Brussels to get to know our dynamic city that vibrates with a unique creative culture, followed by the opportunity to dine together (costs covered by each person individually). Come join in the fun and meet the other attendees!
• On Monday, there will be a Peer Critique Café followed by a brunch (costs covered by each person individually). What better way to continue on the spirit of the Europolitan than to share and exchange ideas with fellow creatives?
• There is a portfolio contest for illustrators, manuscript critique and portfolio review opportunities as well as an Illustrator Showcase and Networking Cocktail on Saturday so attendees can make contacts that we hope will continue to grow long after the conference is over.
